FAQ

FAQ: Here are some frequently asked questions:

Are drivers trained to service people with injuries, medical disabilities or other infirmaries?

Yes - Our drivers are screened thoroughly to ensure they are fit to perform the required duties and receive specialized training to service those with debilitating injuries, brain trauma, various disabilities and a host of medical conditions. We also train our drivers on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the needs and rights of our consumers to ensure a high level of service for our clients.

What kind of assistance do drivers provide clients?

Assistance is a mainstay of our business. We stress the importance of providing door-to-door assistance. When you trust us to transport, you will receive assistance from your residence to the vehicle and from the vehicle to or inside of the door of your destination. They are specially trained in accommodating wheelchair clients and those who may be bed ridden.

How much will this cost me?

We deliver transport services in a reasonably restricted geographical area which translates into cost savings to our clients. We charge a standard fee each leg of your trip on a per rider basis, plus mileage. Although higher than Uber or Taxi rates we are normally lower than competing service providers who come from farther away. Please contact us for a custom quote using our On-Line Form found on this website. See the "Packages" area of this site for information on corporate and private discounts for groups and organizations and those with recurring trips.

Will drivers wait for me until I am ready to return home?

If you require turnaround transport, notify us in advance so we can accommodate. We wait for you if absolutely necessary but normally ask to call us when ready so we can dispatch the return. Wait time is requested we will charge $20 for each half hour of wait time.

Do you take Private Insurance, Medicaid or Medicare?

See the area of the website for full information. Briefly, in man instances, Private Insurers and Medicaid provide payment for required medical transportation services. However, we do not bill the Private Insurers, Medicaid or Medicare. Please contact your group customer service department to learn about and coordinate scheduled transportation. You should also be able to specify that your transportation provider be Mercury Transport LLC.
